Get smart!
Did you know that gymnastics consists of lots of different activities? This is what they are:

Men's Artistic
Skills performed on six pieces of apparatus - floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar.
Women's Artistic
Skills performed on four different pieces of apparatus - vault, asymmetric bars (often known as uneven bars), beam and floor (to music).
Trampoline Gymnastics & Tumbling
Jumps, somersaults and twists in the air from a trampoline.
Rhythmic Gymnastics
Routines performed to music and using rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon.
Aerobic Gymnastics
Energetic dance and fitness routines performed to music.
Acrobatic Gymnastics
Routines performed to music in pairs, trios or fours, involving a mixture of balance, acrobatics and tumbling.
General Gymnastics
Routines performed for displays and festivals rather than competitions and usually involving use of a floor and vault.
Gymnastics for people with a Disability
A little adaptation by the coach enables children with a disability to take part. This includes men's or women's artistic, rhythmic, aerobics, acrobatics, trampolining and displays.
TeamGym
This is great fun for teams of six to 12 gymnasts competing on floor, trampette and the tumbling track.
Pre-School
Young kids build movement skills and confidence - great fun and their first experience of a gym.
Cheerleading
One of the fastest growing sports in the UK is joining British Gymnastics! Activities include dance, 'poms' and 'stunts'.
